Do Not Tarnish The Sublimity Of Jihad

Indeed Jihad, as a part of the teachings of Islamic Shari’ah, is always receiving attacks and accusations from the enemies of Islam. Oftentimes jihad is identified with acts of terrorism. As a result, Islam is described as a religion that is full of violence and cruelty. Therefore, it is necessary for the effort to straighten out the meaning of jihad to be done, so that the sublimity of jihad is not tarnished and that the Muslims, including their ulama’s, do not get stuck on the negative stigmas launched by their enemies.

Jihad in Islam

Just like Solat, Zakat, Hajj and other ibaadahs, jihad is a part of the teachings of Islam. Jihad, in fact, is among the obligations in Islam that is very sublime, that it becomes the ‘beacon’ of Islam.

Linguistically, jihad means: to exert the available ability and power, be it with words or actions (Fayruz Abadi, Al-Muhîth Dictionary, the word ja-ha-da.) Linguistically, jihad could also mean: deploying the whole ability to achieve an objective (An-Naysaburi, Tafsîr an-Naysâbûrî, XI/126).

As for in the conception of shar‘î (shari’ah), the fiqh experts (fuqaha) define jihad as an effort to deploy immediately their entire strength in war fie sabilillah, including in terms of opinions or dissemination of logistics and etc. (to win a battle). Therefore, it is the fight in the framework of raising high the kalimah of Allah that is called jihad. (An-Nabhani, Ash-Shakhsiyyah al-Islâmiyyah, II/153. See also, Ibn Abidin, Hâshiyah Ibn Abidin, III/336).

In al-Quran, this jihad in the sense of fighting consists of 24 words. (See Muhammad Husain Haikal, Al-Jihâd wa al-Qitâl. I/12). The obligation of jihad (fighting) has been established by Allah SWT in al-Quran in many of the verses. (See, for example: QS an-Nisa’ [4]: 95); QS at-Taubah [9]: 41; 86, 87, 88; QS as-Saf [61]: 4).

In fact jihad (fighting) in the cause of Allah is a virtuous and sublime deed where the doers will achieve paradise and eternal pleasures in the akhirah. (See, for example: QS an-Nisaa’ [4]: 95; QS an-Nisa’ [4]: 95; QS at-Taubah [9]: 111; QS al-Anfal [8]: 74; QS al-Maidah [5]: 35; QS al-Hujurat [49]: 15; QS as-Saff [61]: 11-12. On the other hand, Allah has denounced and threatened those who are reluctant to conduct Jihad (fighting) in the cause of Allah (See, for example: QS at-Taubah [9]: 38-39; QS al-Anfal [8]: 15-16; QS at-Taubah [9]: 24).

The question is, when and where is jihad, in the sense of fighting, done? First: When the Muslims or their countries are attacked by the kafir people or country. For example in the case of Afghanistan and Iraq which are attacked and occupied by America until now, also in the case of Palestine which is invaded by Israel. This is what’s called defensive (difâ‘î) jihad. In a condition like this, Allah SWT has obliged Muslims to retaliate against the act of attackers and drive them out of the lands of the Muslims (see QS. Al Baqarah [2]: 190).

Second: When there is a group of Muslim community who are fought against by the kafir people or country. The Muslims are obligated to help them. Because, Muslims are brothers, like a one body. Due to that, an attack on some of the Muslims is in essence an attack on the entire Muslims all over the world. It is also due to this that the efforts to defend the Muslims in Afghanistan, Iraq or Palestine, for example, is the duty of the Muslims all over the world (see QS. al-Anfal [8]: 72).

Third: When the Da’wah of Islam conducted by the Daulah Islam (Khilafah) is obstructed by the kafir rulers with their physical strength. Da’wah is a call of the minds, non-physical. When obstructed physically, it is wajib for the Muslims to conduct jihad to defend Da’wah and remove the physical obstacles that exist in front of them, under the leadership of a khalifah. This is what’s called offensive (hujûmî) jihad. It was this that was also done by the Prophet (SAW) and the Sahabahs after succeeding in establishing a Daulah Islam in Madinah. They never stopped conducting jihad (fighting) in the framework of removing the physical obstacles for the sake of spreading the Islamic Da’wah and for the sake of the establishment of the kalimah of Allah.

It was with this offensive jihad that Islam spread to the rest of the world and the territories of Muslim rule was also increasingly expanding, dominating the various parts of the world. This is a historical fact that cannot be denied. In fact, jihad (fighting) is a method of Islam in the spread of the Da’wah of Islam by the State (Daulah Islam) (see QS al-Baqarah [2]: 193).

The Sublimity of Jihad Cannot be Tarnished

As mentioned above, jihad is a sublime deed. Imam an-Nawawi, in Riyâdh as-Sâlihîn, made a special chapter about jihad. He, among others, cited the words of the Prophet (SAW), as narrated by Abu Hurairah: Rasulullah (SAW) was once asked, “What is the best deed?” He replied, “To believe in Allah and His Apostle.” The questioner then asked, “What is the next (in goodness)?” He replied, “To participate in Jihad (fighting) in Allah’s Cause.” He was asked again, “And then what?” The Prophet replied, “A Hajj that is mabrur.” (HR al-Bukhari and Muslim).

Imam Ibnu Hajar also said that in that hadith (or similar hadiths) fighting in Allah’s cause (jihad fie sabilillah) is the foremost deed after iman in Allah and His Apostle (Ibnu Hajar al-Asqalani, Fath al-Bari, 5/149).

Due to that, it is incumbent upon Muslims to preserve this sublimity of jihad from anyone who tries to tarnish and denigrate it, whether it be because of ignorance, or because of malice (as done by the kafir Western invaders) against the activities of jihad. Because, besides the meaning of jihad having been applied in a less precise manner, the sublimity of the jihad has also been purposely vilified by the kafir Western imperialist. The West, for example, has long called Islam a ‘barbaric’ religion just because it teaches jihad.

President Bush even called Islam as a radical and fascist religion, while the former British PM called Islam the ‘ideology of Iblis’; also, among others, due to the factor of jihad. Colin Powell when he became a U.S. Secretary of State had also said, “If they only send the young generation to madrassa, the madrassa is not doing anything, but indoctrinating them into bad aspects. Teaching hatred will not bring peace for all of us in this region.” (Media Indonesia, 23/1/2004).

Why is that? All that is no other than a form of their propaganda, so that the Muslims stay away from jihad. Because, nonetheless the West realizes that jihad is the biggest threat for their survival over the Islamic World. Due to that, the West even strives to remove jihad from teachings of Islam. It is manifested, among others, through the efforts of the West in imposing secular education curriculum to madrassas or pesantrens, or other institutions of Islamic education, because all this time those institutions are deemed to be teaching violence or producing ‘terrorists’.

In short, every Muslim must be wary of the every effort of the kafir Western invaders who endeavour to manipulate, even eliminate the teaching and ruling of jihad from Islam for the sake of their political interests. Due to that, it is wajib for the ulama’s to remain and continue to teach the doctrine of jihad, as well as calling on the ummah to prepare it. Wallahu A’lam Bi Sawab.

Shariah: The Clear Path

“For each We have appointed a divine law and a traced-out way. Had God willed, He could have made you one community. But that He may try you by that which He has given you. So vie one with another in good works. Unto God you will all return, and He will then inform you of that wherein you differ.” (Qur’an, 5: 48)

For Muslims, life did not begin at birth, but a long time before that. Before even the creation of the first man. It began when God created the souls of everyone who would ever exist and asked them, “Am I not your Lord?” They all replied, “Yea.”

God decreed for each soul a time on earth so that He might try them. Then, after the completion of their appointed terms, He would judge them and send them to their eternal destinations: either one of endless bliss, or one of everlasting grief.

This life, then, is a journey that presents to its wayfarers many paths. Only one of these paths is clear and straight. This path is the Shariah.

Divine Guidance

In Arabic, Shariah means the clear, well-trodden path to water. Islamically, it is used to refer to the matters of religion that God has legislated for His servants. The linguistic meaning of Shariah reverberates in its technical usage: just as water is vital to human life so the clarity and uprightness of Shariah is the means of life for souls and minds.

Throughout history, God has sent messengers to people all over the world, to guide them to the straight path that would lead them to happiness in this world and the one to follow. All messengers taught the same message about belief (the Qur’an teaches that all messengers called people to the worship of the One God), but the specific prescriptions of the divine laws regulating people’s lives varied according to the needs of his people and time.

The Prophet Muhammad (God bless him and give him peace) was the final messenger and his Shariah represents the ultimate manifestation of the divine mercy. “Today I have perfected your way of life (din) for you, and completed My favour upon you, and have chosen Islam as your way of life.” (Qur’an, 5: 3) The Prophet (pbuh) himself was told that, “We have only sent you are a mercy for all creation.” (Qur’an, 21: 179)

Legal Rulings

The Shariah regulates all human actions and puts them into five categories: obligatory, recommended, permitted, disliked or forbidden.

Obligatory actions must be performed and when performed with good intentions are rewarded. Its opposite is the forbidden. Recommended action is that which should be done. Its opposite is the disliked. Permitted action is that which is neither encouraged nor discouraged. Most human actions fall in this last category.

The ultimate worth of actions is based on intention and sincerity, as mentioned by the Prophet (pbuh), who said, “Actions are by intentions, and one shall only get that which one intended.”

Life under the Shariah

The Shariah covers all aspects of human life. Classical Shariah manuals are often divided into four parts: laws relating to personal acts of worship, laws relating to commercial dealings, laws relating to marriage and divorce, and penal laws.

Legal Philosophy

God sent prophets and books to humanity to show them the way to happiness in this life, and success in the hereafter. This is encapsulated in the believer’s prayer, stated in the Qur’an, “Our Lord, give us good in this life and good in the next, and save us from the punishment of the Fire.”(2: 201)

The legal philosophers of Islam, such as Ghazali, Shatibi, and Shah Wali Allah explain that the aim of Shariah is to promote human welfare. This is evident in the Qur’an, and teachings of the Prophet (pbuh).

The scholars explain that the welfare of humans is based on the fulfillment of necessities, needs, and comforts.

Necessities

Necessities are matters that worldly and religious life depend upon. Their omission leads to unbearable hardship in this life, or punishment in the next. There are five necessities: preservation of religion, life, intellect, lineage, and wealth. These ensure individual and social welfare in this life and the hereafter.

The Shariah protects these necessities in two ways: firstly by ensuring their establishment and then by preserving them.

  1. Religion: To ensure the establishment of religion, God Most High has made belief and worship obligatory. To ensure its preservation, the rulings relating to the obligation of learning and conveying the religion were legislated.
     
  2. Life: To ensure the preservation of human life, God Most high legislated for marriage, healthy eating and living, and forbid the taking of life and laid down punishments for doing so.
     
  3. Intellect: God has permitted that sound intellect and knowledge be promoted, and forbidden that which corrupts or weakens it, such as alcohol and drugs. He has also imposed preventative punishments in order that people stay away from them, because a sound intellect is the basis of the moral responsibility that humans were given.
     
  4. Lineage: marriage was legislated for the preservation of lineage, and sex outside marriage was forbidden. Punitive laws were put in placed in order to ensure the preservation of lineage and the continuation of human life.
     
  5. Wealth: God has made it obligatory to support oneself and those one is responsible for, and placed laws to regulate the commerce and transactions between people, in order to ensure fair dealing, economic justice, and to prevent oppression and dispute.

Needs and Comforts

Needs and comforts are things people seek in order to ensure a good life, and avoid hardship, even though they are not essential. The spirit of the Shariah with regards to needs and comforts is summed up in the Qur’an, “He has not placed any hardship for you in religion,”(22: 87) And, “God does not seek to place a burden on you, but that He purify you and perfect His grace upon you, that you may give thanks.”(5: 6)

Therefore, everything that ensures the human happiness, within the spirit of Divine Guidance, is permitted in the Shariah.

The Sources of the Shariah

The primary sources of the Shariah are the Qur’an and example of the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh).

The Qur’an

The Qur’an was revealed to the Prophet (pbuh) gradually, over 23 years. The essence of its message is to establish the oneness of God and the spiritual and moral need of man for God. This need is fulfilled through worship and submission, and has ultimate consequences in the Hereafter.

The Qur’an is the word of God. Because of its inimitable style and eloquence, and, above all, the guidance and legal provisions it came with, it ensures the worldly and next-worldly welfare of humanity.

God Most High said, “Verily, this Qur’an guides to that which is best, and gives glad tidings to the believers who do good that theirs will be a great reward.” (Qur’an, 17: 9) And, “There has come unto you light from God and a clear Book, whereby God guides those who seek His good pleasure unto paths of peace. He brings them out of darkness unto light by His decree, and guides them unto a straight path.” (Qur’an, 5: 15)

The Prophetic Example (Sunna)

The Prophet’s role was expounded in the Qur’an, “We have revealed the Remembrance [Qur’an] to you that you may explain to people that which was revealed for them.” (16: 44)

This explanation was through the Prophet’s words, actions, and example. Following the guidance and the example of the Prophet was made obligatory, “O you who believe, obey God and obey the Messenger,” (4: 59) and, “Verily, in the Messenger of God you have a beautiful example for those who seek God and the Last Day, and remember God much.” The Prophet (pbuh) himself instructed, “I have left two things with you which if you hold on to, you shall not be misguided: the Book of God and my example.” [Reported by Hakim and Malik]

Derived Sources

There are two agreed upon derived sources of Shariah: scholarly consensus (ijma`) and legal analogy (qiyas)

Scholarly consensus

The basis for scholarly consensus being a source of law is the Qur’anic command to resolve matters by consultation, as God stated, “Those who answer the call of their Lord, established prayer, and whose affairs are by consultation.” (42: 38) Scholarly consensus is defined as being the agreement of all Muslim scholars at the level of juristic reasoning (ijtihad) in one age on a given legal ruling. Given the condition that all such scholars have to agree to the ruling, its scope is limited to matters that are clear according to the Qur’an and Prophetic example, upon which such consensus must necessarily be based. When established, though, scholarly consensus is decisive proof.

Legal Analogy (Qiyas)

Legal analogy is a powerful tool to derive rulings for new matters. For example, drugs have been deemed impermissible, through legal analogy from the prohibition of alcohol that is established in the Qur’an. Such a ruling is based on the common underlying effective cause of intoxication.

Legal analogy and its various tools enables the jurists to understand the underlying reasons and causes for the rulings of the Qur’an and Prophetic example (sunna). This helps in dealing with the ever-changing human situations and allows for new rulings to be applied most suitably and consistently.

Beyond Ritualism

Although the Shariah brings benefit in this world, the ultimate aim of those who submit to it is to express their slavehood to their Creator.

This way has been indicated in a Divine statement conveyed by the Prophet (pbuh), “My servant approaches Me with nothing more beloved to Me than what I have made obligatory upon him, and My servant keeps drawing nearer to Me with voluntary works until I love him. And when I love him, I am his hearing with which he hears, his sight with which he sees, his hand with which he seizes, and his foot with which he walks. If he asks Me, I will surely give to him, and if he seeks refuge in Me, I will surely protect him.” [Reported by Bukhari]

If the legal dimension of the Shariah gives Islam its form, the spiritual dimension is its substance. The spiritual life of Islam, and its goal, was outlined in the Divine statement (mentioned above). The Prophet (pbuh) explained spiritual excellence as being, “To worship God as though you see Him, and if you see Him not, [know that] He nevertheless sees you.”

The spiritual life of Islam is a means to a realization of faith and a perfection of practice. It is to seek the water that the Shariah is the clear path to, water that gives life to minds and souls longing for meaning.

It is this spiritual life, at its various levels, that attracts Muslims to their religion, its way of life, and to the rulings of the Shariah.

“And those who believe are overflowing in their love of God.” (Qur’an, 2: 165)

What is TAQWA?

Literally, taqwa means to protect and could be that one protects himself from the Wrath of Allah by protecting himself from indulging in things that Allah forbids. In the Shariah, taqwa as used in the Quran repeatedly, signifies the obedience to the Rules of Islam while avoiding Haraam, and additionally abstaining from unsuitable things in life.

Taqwa is mentioned in the Qur’an many times over and Allah has ordered each and every Muslim to have taqwa.

A couple of verses that mention taqwa are presented below:

“It is not taqwa that you turn your faces toward East or West, but it is taqwa to believe in Allah and the Last Day, and the Angels, and the Book and the Messengers, to spend of your substance out of love for Him, for your kin, for orphans, for the needy, for the wayfarer, for those who ask, and for the ransom of slaves; to be steadfast in prayer and practice regular charity; to fulfill the contracts you have made; to be firm and patient, in pain and adversity. Those are the truthful and those are the muttaqun.” [Qur’an 2:177]

“O mankind! We have created you from a male and a female, and made you into nations and tribes, that you may know one another. Verily, the most honourable of you with Allah is that (believer) who has Taqwa. Verily, Allah is All-Knowing, All-Aware.” [Qur’an 49:13]

Taqwa in Ahadith

The Prophet (صلى الله عليه وسلم) said, “The most common thing which leads people to Paradise is taqwa of Allah and good conduct, and the most common thing which leads people to the Hell Fire is the mouth and the private parts.” [Tirmidhi]

Tafseer ibn Kathir mentions that Atiyah As-Sa’di said the Propeht (صلى الله عليه وسلم) said, “The servant will not acquire the status of those with taqwa until he abandons what is harmless out of fear of falling into that which is harmful.” [Ibn Majah, Tirmizi]

Sayyiduna Ali (R.A) defined Taqwa as being the ‘fear of Jaleel (Allah), acting upon the tanzeel (Quran), being content with qaleel (little), and preparing for the day of raheel (journeying from this world).

Hadrat Umar ibn Khattab (R.A) once asked Hadrat Ibn Ka’ab (R.A) the definition of taqwa. In reply Hadrat Ibn Ka’ab asked, “Have you ever had to traverse a thorny path?” Hadrat Umar replied in the affirmative and Hadrat Ka’ab continued, “How do you do so?”

Hadrat Umar said that he would carefully walk through after first having collected all loose and flowing clothing in his hands so nothing gets caught in the thorns hence injuring him. Hadrat Ka’ab said, “This is the definition of taqwa, to protect oneself from sin through life’s dangerous journey so that one can successfully complete the journey unscathed by sin.”

Hadrat Hasan Basri said, “Taqwa is the basis of Deen. Desire and greed destroy this basis.”

Hadrat Maulana Hafiz Ghulam Habib (r.a.) used to define taqwa as the shunning of everything and anything that causes a deficiency in one’s relationship with Allah.

May Allah give all the Muslimeen the ability to cultivate taqwa in our lives and grant us paradise, Ameen.

Hide your good deeds the way you hide your sins! This is how you gain Taqwah!!

Yemen. Under Rule Of Al-Qaeda

Ansar Al-Sharia (Supporters of Sharia or al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula) are opening a new front which is the media front, so will they be superior in it as they were superior skilfully in the front of military war, either we like that or not all the data on the ground indicates that Ansar Al-Sharia is superior to the military machines of the government, and they are today opening a new front which is the media front after they achieved a partly relative stability in the battle front…

Those who follow the news of these Islamic groups see that they may succeed in the media front and they thus seek to achieve a new victory… which may be in this stay stronger than the military victory.

Departure of the plundering gangs and banditry

In an exploratory tour which the weekly Adeni newspaper Al-Omanaa did in the Islamic Emirate of Waqar (formerly Jaar), to view the impression of the people and their coexistence with Ansar Al-Sharia who control the city and manage the responsibility of the social life and security in it.

This city was from the most uncontrollable and chaotic where banditry, theft and murder spread and gangs were a consistent and organized power, and have leaders that supervise it and lead it and there is no one similar to them in any other region or city as many have was known about them in Jaar and outside it.

As soon as Ansar Al-Sharia controlled this city and imposed themselves as a reality, the gangs of banditry and theft in the beginning showed cooperation with them, and lost when it tried to keep the city in chaos and continuing the plunder and looting to fulfil their desires, which was meet with refusal and fighting from Ansar Al-Sharia and they demanded the implementation of the Islamic Sharia on every violator as what happened later after the full control as implementing the Haad of theft and the Qisas in murder and other Hudud, which made the leaders of these gangs forced to leave the region and the city after a fierce fight as the people of the city say.

Return of life to the city of Waqar

Al-Omanaa newspaper visited several locals who were selling and buying in the stalls and stores, as well as offices of the administrations of Ansar Al-Sharia and public markets, also took some photos that show the vehicles and equipments of Ansar Al-Sharia which does its role in cleaning the streets from rain water and fixing some of the dilapidated water pipes and cleaning the environment from the pile of garbage, in addition to seeing the projects that were presented by Ansar Al-Sharia to the locals during the period of their rule to the city.

One of the youth called ‘Razq’ sells petrol in the black market hangs the picture of the Jihadi leader Osama bin Laden behind him on a tree that he leans against and in front of him are the barrels of petrol, he said to Al-Omanaa:

"Frankly the situation that we live in from security, stability and justice we haven’t heard of and seen before except when Ansar Al-Sharia came to us and fought the thieves, murderers, gangs and corrupt people and they helped us in many unresolved problems and solved it"… and he added: "Thanks to Ansar Al-Sharia I leave my belongings in the street in any time and go to sleep in the night and return in the morning and they remain in its place and nobody can take anything, and if someone dared he will find his hand separated in front of him".

As for Lutfi Abduljaber the owner of a shop of cloth:

"I have never witnessed this security and stability before, we used to be blackmailed by the thugs of the regime under any excuse like the commercial register and licenses and sums of money were taken from us daily under any excuse, I used to pay to display my merchandise on the door of the exhibition, I mean in front of the shop… But today Alhamdulillah with the grace of Allah and due to the presence of Ansar Al-Sharia I didn’t pay one Riyal and I’m not afraid or concerned on my trade as before, I go out from my shop to pray with my shop open and I don’t need from close it as long as there is someone who will do justice to me if someone dared to touch my work".

On his part Adnan Al-Sharaabi a vegetable seller said:

"Yesterday we used to pay everyday 1500 to the thugs of the authority for squatting on the street but today we don’t pay one Riyal under the rule of Ansar Al-Sharia, they didn’t ask for anything except to move away from the street so that we don’t cause congestion for the shoppers".

The food aid

On the other hand in a visit to the office of public relief and meeting - Obaid Marzooq, one of the supervisors of the relief committee - who explained that the office of relief was opened since the departure of the displaced from Zinjibar and it gathers the subsidies and receives it several organizations and distributes it on the poor and displaced stating that it covers 20 thousand family from Al-Haror to Al-Arqoub except Batees, Al-Hissin and Al-Rawaa for the presence of another branch that covers these regions and all of it are under supervision and organization of Ansar Al-Sharia.

And he added: ‘There isn’t any problems or shortening or disorder since every family is given a sack of rice and a sack of wheat and some sugar and lentil and two bottles of 10 liters oil and some salt and sack of barley and beans, in addition that these subsidies are delivered to the far away people to their homes, including the displaced of Zinjibar in the Emirate of Waqar who are almost 3700 family.

Solving cases unsolved from 20 years

The court of Waqar became a model that people speak about everywhere and one of the women said to one of the youth “If you have a right you will only find justice with Ansar Al-Sharia after they gave me my right which no one gave me from twenty years”, the court in Waqar solved cases which were unsolved from more than 20 years after all the people were unable to solve it and today these cases only took one week to solve it.

Restoration of health

Regarding the health aspect, the deputy of the director of the health centre Mohammed Nassir Saeed said to me that after the warplanes targeted Al-Razi hospital which covered many of the problems, Ansar Al-Sharia equipped a health centre like the first aid and providing services to it… stating that who remained from the medical staff which departed after the destruction of the hospital with the aerial bombardment are working next to the Doctors Without Borders.

And he said that the problems that they face is that the centre is small because of the receiving and throng of the sick.

And Mohammed Nassir requested from the benevolent wealthy people and the organizations to present medical services and rehabilitation of Al-Razi hospital and develop it to return to work and save the lives of the citizens who suffer hardship after it covered some of the important matters like operations and surgeries and other in a state of instability, but today after providing security and safety and spreading instability we find that it is a chance to rehabilitate the hospital and develop it. And if we find someone who listens who has humanity and conscience to help us in rehabilitation of the hospital and return of the doctors to it after they were displaced by the shelling of the warplanes - according to him.

Piles of garbage and sewerage

In the same time Al-Omanaavisited one of the faltering projects from almost 15 years and wasn’t rehabilitated despite receiving sums of money in its name, which is the project of the sewerage and the piles of garbage that were neglected by the former local authority and Ansar Al-Sharia expelled it and restored the sewage system who the locals said that they very much affected from it because of the return of the sewage water to the bathrooms in the houses, it is supposed that Asphalt passes over these sewage that extends to the cement factory and these sums of the money were paid from the German project but it wasn’t completed because of the corruption that was practiced by the former authority.

Providing the water and electricity services

Regarding the water projects the water system was rehabilitated by Ansar Al-Sharia after the project was neglected and some of it were stolen by the farmers that were investing it and depriving the locals from their drinking water and the Ansar Al-Sharia role was fighting disorder and rehabilitated the systems and brought pumping equipment and rehabilitated one fifth of the wells, after they in the beginning they kept barrels in every neighborhood until the water project was rehabilitated.

In addition to that Ansar Al-Sharia launched a project of electricity and delivering it to several regions after it were deprived from it since 1986, and from these regions Sakin, Eiis, Sayhan, Al-Jabalain and Hajfour, which was met with widespread satisfaction among the people of these regions since they accomplished within months what the former authority was able to do in tens of years.

And Ansar Al-Sharia don’t receive any sums of money from the citizens in return for providing these services that they present to the people.

Yemen: AQAP Mujahideen ready to withdraw from Radda, if Sharia Law is introduced there

The Mujahideen of Al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula (aka Ansar al-Sharia) offered the Saleh’s regime a deal to release 400 Mujahideen from prisons of the ruling regime in return for retreat of their fighters from the recently liberated town of Radda. 

Sheikh Tariq al-Dahab, Emir of Al-Qaeda in Radda (province of al-Baydah), told tribal mediators that the AQAP units would retreat from the town if the so-called “transitional government” of Saleh’s regime sets free at least 400 Mujahideen from puppets’ torture chambers n Sana’a.

"They also demanded the court to introduce the Sharia Islamic Law in the town", a puppet official said on condition of anonymity.

The official of the Yemeni ruling regime’s intelligence Political Security Agency said that “nearly all al-Qaeda prisoners in south and southeast Yemen were liberated over the past months by their fellows, lwhich happened in the provinces of Aden, Shabwa and Lahj. Or the prisoners broke out on their own by digging tunnels, which happened in Mukalla (province of Hadramawt) on June, 22, 2011”.

But in Sanaa, there is still a large number of Muslim prisoners, supporting Jihad, said the puppet intelligence official who asked to remain anonymous.

Apparently, the Mujahideen’s proposal to withdraw their forces from Radda in exchange for the establishment of Sharia law and the release of Muslim prisoners from the jails of Saleh’s regime was dictated by the fears that the town would be turned intothe second Zinjibar where civilians were subjected to endless bombings by the Yemeni puppets.

However, the proposal of al-Qaeda command was rejected by the regime of Saleh and intelligence officials in Sana’a. 

"The government will not agree to the demand of the terrorists of releasing their jailed operatives", according to a brief statement by a senior puppet official of the regime.

Meanwhile, the Mujahideen continue operations also on the southern front. Thus, on Wednesday morning, the AQAP fighters attacked a vehicle with a senior ringleader in the southern port city of Aden, reported Xinhua. 

Mobile squad of Mujahideen opened heavy fire with automatic weapons at the vehicle of the intelligence and security ringleader of the Saleh’s regime, General Ghazi Ahmad Ali, when he returned home, passing near Aden University. Ali miraculously survived from the attack, and two his bodyguards were seriously injured. 

The Mujahideen “fired a hail of bullets at General Ghazi’s car, but he survived the attack, he was not injured”, said one of the security officers of the regime. 

"This is the third unsuccessful attempt at Ghazi", he said, adding that "the incident was in style" of the Mujahideen of al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula. 

Before leaving the place of the special operation, the mobile squad of the Mujahideen entered into a gunfight with local puppet security forces.

Americans Warn West: Islam Will Conquer Every Country On The Globe

Fourteen centuries after sending down of the Revelations to Prophet Muhammad (pbuh), Muslims still despise the West, and they are willing to die waging Jihad against the infidels, writes Islamophobic website Renew America.

Muslims believe that only Jihad can establish a true Islamic State to abolish injustice and bring people into the Laws of God - by eradicating other political systems by the sword - to preach, restore the Caliphate and destroy their enemies, infidels, writes Renew America.

Raised by devout, doting families, many are taught 7th century masculine virtues mentioned by the Prophet (pbuh), trained to develop a group mentality, and though not predisposed to do harm individually, they can perform “monstrous” acts collectively.

The reason they doing Jihad is establishing Allah’s Laws on earth. Defeat and death bring everlasting Paradise and spiritual benefit for them. Islam seeks to erase all the religious culture, to destroy paganism, with nothing left of polytheism and its attributes, which, according to Renew America, have “historical importance”. The world for them is Islam’s perpetual war zone. 

According to the ideology of Jihad, the legitimacy of the Jewish enclave of “Israel” is being questioned. They (Muslims) insist that “Israel” is occupying Islamic lands.

They believe that Muhammad (pbuh) was transferred on the Night of ascension in al-Quds (Jerusalem), where stands the Mosque Al-Aqsa.

Their ideology of Jihad states that “Israel” is a global threat to stability, that “Israel” is blockading Gaza, that “Israel” doing policy of national discrimination.

For 14 centuries the Jihad allowed them to conquer all of Arabia, Syria, Egypt, Libya, Mauritania, Sudan, Armenia, Mesopotamia, Cyprus. And they continue to fight today, and an example of that is 9/11.

They spread Sharia law everywhere, in the Swedish Malmo, in the Netherlands, in France.

Their Jihad, writes Renew America, encroaching on what the West called “freedom of speech” (which gives the full right to insult and vilify Islam, but at the same time forbids to do the same with other religions).

At the end of Islamophobic articles Renew America encourages all infidel media outlets to feel some “moral obligation” and more write about Islam and Jihad.

"Otherwise, the Jihad will continue until Islam conquers every country on the globe", warns Renew America.

Achieving Victory With Tawheed 

Rasulullah Shalallahu ‘alaihi Wassalam (SAW) said to a Sahabah, Mu’adz ibnu Jabal, “Shall I not tell you the principal of ‘amal, the pillar, as well as its peak?” Mu’adz answered, “Yes, O Messenger of Allah.” He said, “The principal of ‘amal is Islam and the pillar is Solat, and the peak is Jihad.” (HR Tirmidzi)

It cannot be doubted that jihad is the highest good deed ('amal), the peak of the highness of Islam. Jihad is one of the principles from the many principles of aqeedah al-islamiyyah. Conducting jihad means making religion entirely for Allah, preventing injustices and establishing the haq, maintaining the glory of the Muslims and helping the people ofmustadh’afin. Allah says, “And fight them until there is no fitnah and [until] the religion, all of it, is for Allah.” (QS Al-Anfaal: 39).

And on the other hand, conducting jihad also means humiliating the enemies of Allah, stopping their evilness, guarding the honour of the Muslims and destroying the people of kafireen. Allah says, Fight those who do not believe in Allah or in the Last Day and who do not consider unlawful what Allah and His Messenger have made unlawful and who do not adopt the religion of truth.” (QS At-Tawbah: 29).

Jihad is the way of the salafussolih in order to confront the hostility of thekuffarmunafiqeen and mulhideen, as well as the enemies of religion. Besides that, they also conducted jihad with the aim of improving the condition of the Muslims in terms of their aqeedahakhlaq,adab and the whole affairs of their religion and dunya, as well as doing tarbiyah (education and cultivation) on their 'ilm and'amal.

As a Muslim, we certainly have faith in our hearts that help is a promise for the people of iman. Allah says, “And incumbent upon Us was support of the believers.” (QS Ar-Ruum: 47). We also have faith that Allah surely helps His slaves who become the helpers of His religion. Allah says, “O you who have believed, if you support Allah , He will support you and plant firmly your feet.” (QS Muhammad: 7).

That is the promise of Allah and Allah will not go against His promise. Allah says, “And who is truer to his covenant than Allah?”(QS At-Tawbah: 111). Thus it becomes an obligation upon every Muslim to know what must be done in order to attract the causes which will bring the helps of Allah – with the belief that victory and the help of Allah can only be won by the people who are highly competent to receive it -.

Dear readers -rahimakumullah-, the help of Allah will not descend with us simply yelling on the mimbar, weighing the strength of the enemies. The help of Allah will not come by merely accumulating the number of people with a wide range of aqeedah and ideological backgrounds. Victory and the help of Allah will be very distant when we follow the way of the fools by demonstrating in the streets, especially demonstrating as an effort to establish the Islamic Shari’a!!!

Expecting the help of Allah is not by merely fantasizing and dreaming, nor only with hollow spirits. Allah says, “Paradise is not [obtained] by your wishful thinking nor by that of the People of the Scripture. Whoever does a wrong will be recompensed for it, and he will not find besides Allah a protector or a helper.” (QS An-Nisaa: 123).

Dear readers – upon whom is the mercy of Allah-, know that the biggest preparation for the believers in order to develop the strength over the enemies is that they must get in touch with Allah through tawheed, love, hope, fear and always returning to Him, as well as khushu’ and tawakkal. Always be at His side and be sufficient from others besides Him.

Allah says, 
“And those who disbelieved said to their messengers, 'We will surely drive you out of our land, or you must return to our religion.' So their Lord inspired to them, 'We will surely destroy the wrongdoers. And We will surely cause you to dwell in the land after them. That is for he who fears My position and fears My threat.' (QS Ibrahim: 13-14).

They are the people of pure tawheed to whom Allah has promised victory, peace and khilafah. Allah says, “Allah has promised those who have believed among you and done righteous deeds that He will surely grant them succession [to authority] upon the earth just as He granted it to those before them and that He will surely establish for them [therein] their religion which He has preferred for them and that He will surely substitute for them, after their fear, security, [for] they worship Me, not associating anything with Me.” (QS An-Nuur: 55).

Have we, Muslims, already paid attention these noble requirements: “… worship Me, not associating anything with Me”? This is what must be known and established by the people who have the two sightings.

Remember! When a group of Mu’mineen from the Sahabahs of Rasulullah SAW departed for the battle of Hunayn where a part of them had newly become Muslim, when they came to a tree which was called Dzaatu Anwaath, they saw the mushrikeen hanging their weapons on that tree for the purpose asking for blessings. They said, “O Rasulullah, make for us Dzaatu Anwaath just like theirs.” Rasulullah SAW answered, “Allahu Akbar!”, in other riwaayah, “Subhanallah! By the One on Whose Hands is my soul, indeed you have said what the people of Musa had said to him (Musa AS): Make for us a god (idol) just as they have gods (idols).” (QS Al-A’raaf: 138), (HR Ahmad).

Observe this hadith where their Islam which was still new did not prevent the Prophet SAW from repudiating a kalimah that would plunge them into shirk. Their number which was huge and organized, ready for battle fighting the kafir, did not prevent the Prophet SAW from stopping / straightening out their mistakes which is credo (aqeedah) in nature. So it is not allowed at all to put aside the haq of Allah to be worshipped with tawheed because this is the most sublime requisite. If it is absent, then the jihad would disappear.

Hopefully dear readers still remember how the Muslims achieved a brilliant victory over the Tartars after they had improved theiraqeedah and proved their tawheed to Allah AWJ. Shaikhul Islam Ibnu Taimiyah said, “And when the Muslims started to improve their affairs, true in istighatsah (seeking assistance in emergencies) from their Lord, then they obtained victory over their enemies with an honourable victory.”

On the other hand, the Tartars suffered defeat with a defeat that they had never experienced before.

When the proof of true tawheed to Allah and the obedience to His Rasul is established, indeed Allah will assist His Rasul and the believers in the life of this world and on the day when He brings in witnesses. This shows that the help and victory on this earth could not be achieved except after already having established the true religion in the soul. And Allah says, “I am with you. If you establish prayer and give zakah and believe in My messengers and support them and loan Allah a goodly loan.” (QS Al-Maidah: 12).

And Allah also says, “Indeed, Allah will not change the condition of a people until they change what is in themselves. And when Allah intends for a people ill, there is no repelling it. And there is not for them besides Him any patron.” (QS Ar-Ra’d: 11).

It would be nice if this author quotes the will of Umar ibnu Abdil Aziz, as narrated by Al-Imam Abu Nu’aim in Al-Hilyah (5/303) through Ibnul Mubarok from Maslamah ibnu Abi Bakroh from a man of the Quraish, that Umar ibnu Abdil Aziz made a will to some of his workers, “You should have taqwa to Allah where ever you are. Indeed, having taqwa to Allah is the best preparation, The most perfect plot and and the most powerful force.

And don’t let the hatred of your enemies on you make you and the people with you pay more attention to it than the transgressions against Allah. Indeed, what I fear most on the humans are their sins than the plots of their enemies, because we hate the enemies and triumph over them because of their transgressions, if not because of that we would not have the power as their numbers are unlike our numbers, their power is unlike our power. If we are not given victory over them because of our hatred, we would not be able to defeat them with our strength.

And don’t let the enmity of someone from the human race make you pay more attention to it than your sins. Know that with you are the angels of Allah who protect you, they know what you are doing at home and in your journeys, so be shy from them, improve your togetherness with them, do not hurt them with your transgressions against Allah while you assume that you are fie sabilillah.

Don’t you say that the state of our enemies is worse than ours and that they would never triumph over us even if we have many sins. How many people had been humiliated with something worse than their enemies because of their sins. Ask Allah for help from your own selves, just like you ask Allah for help from your enemies. Thus we ask for us and you…”

Thus was part of the will of Umar ibnu Abdil Aziz which spurs us Muslims to always do muhasabah on ourselves. And at the end of this writing, the author would like to remind again that Allah SWT relies His help on the taqwasabr and improvement of relationships with Him through tawheed. Allah says, “If you are patient and fear Allah , their plot will not harm you at all.” (QS Ali Imran: 120).

“Yes, if you remain patient and conscious of Allah and the enemy come upon you [attacking] in rage, your Lord will reinforce you with five thousand angels having marks [of distinction].” (QS Ali Imran: 125).

“If you are patient and fear Allah - indeed, that is of the matters [worthy] of determination.” (QS Ali Imran: 186).

Walhamdu lillahi rabbil ‘alamin.

The Shar’ie Objectives of Jihad Implementation: 

1. Destroying the obstructing walls that hinder the spreading of the Dien (religion) to every corner of the world, like what is mentioned by Allah SWT: "And fight them on until there is no more tumult or oppression, and there prevail justice and faith in Allah altogether and everywhere;" (Al-Anfal: 39). 

2. Preventing and removing tyranny while simultaneously establishing the pure Truth for the sake of wiping out evil and corruptions, Allah SWT says: "And did not Allah check one set of people by means of another, the earth would indeed be full of mischief: But Allah is full of bounty to all the worlds." (Al-Baqarah: 251).

And again He says: "To those against whom war is made, permission is given (to fight), because they are wronged;- and verily, Allah is most powerful for their aid;- (They are) those who have been expelled from their homes in defiance of right,- (for no cause) except that they say, 'our Lord is Allah..' Did not Allah check one set of people by means of another, there would surely have been pulled down monasteries, churches, synagogues, and mosques, in which the name of Allah is commemorated in abundant measure. Allah will certainly aid those who aid his (cause);- for verily Allah is full of Strength, Exalted in Might, (able to enforce His Will).” (Al-Hajj: 39-40). 

3. Protecting the existence of the Muslims, their dignity and honor, as well as helping the weak people (Mustadh’afin), just as what Allah SWT says: "And why should ye not fight in the cause of Allah and of those who, being weak, are ill-treated (and oppressed)?- Men, women, and children, whose cry is: ‘Our Lord! Rescue us from this town, whose people are oppressors; and raise for us from thee one who will protect; and raise for us from thee one who will help!’ (An-Nisa:75). 

4. Humiliating and terrifying the enemies of Allah SWT, simultaneously stopping their cruelty, just as Allah SWT says: "Fight against those who believe not in Allah, nor in the Last Day, nor forbid that which has been forbidden by Allah and His Messenger Muhammad and those who acknowledge not the religion of truth (i.e. Islam) among the people of the Scripture (Jews and Christians), until they pay the Jizyah with willing submission, and feel themselves subdued." (At-Taubah:29).

And Allah SWT again says: “Against them make ready your strength to the utmost of your power, including steeds of war, to strike terror into (the hearts of) the enemies, of Allah and your enemies, and others besides, whom ye may not know, but whom Allah doth know. Whatever ye shall spend in the cause of Allah, shall be repaid unto you, and ye shall not be treated unjustly.”(Al-Anfal: 60), and Allah SWT further says:

“So fight (O Muhammad), in the cause of Allah: you are not held responsible except for yourself. And encourage the believers (to join you) that perhaps Allah will restrain the (military) might of those who disbelieve. And Allah is greater in might and stronger in punishment.” (An-Nisa: 84) 

5. Purifying the hearts of the believers, eliminating the kafirs and selecting the shuhadas. Allah SWT says: “If a wound hath touched you, be sure a similar wound hath touched the others. Such days (of varying fortunes) We give to men and men by turns: that Allah may know those that believe, and that He may take to Himself from your ranks Martyr-witnesses (to Truth). And Allah loveth not those that do wrong. Allah’s object also is to purge those that are true in Faith and to deprive of blessing those that resist Faith. Did ye think that ye would enter Heaven without Allah testing those of you who fought hard (In His Cause) and remained steadfast?” (Ali Imran: 140-142),

and Allah SWT again says: “…but (all this was) that Allah might test what is in your breasts and purge what is in your hearts. For Allah knoweth well the secrets of your hearts.” (Ali Imran: 154) 

6. For the tamkin (setting up) and implementation of the Islamic shari’ah which is just, for the sake of mankind’s wellbeing, under the shade of the Manhaj of Allah SWT. Allah SWT says: “(They are) those who, if We establish them in the land, establish regular prayer and give regular charity, enjoin the right and forbid wrong: with Allah rests the end (and decision) of (all) affairs.” (Al-Hajj: 41).

In a hadith, it was said: "I was ordered to fight people until they bear witness that there is no God but Allah and that Muhammad is his messenger, establish prayer and pay charity, but if they shall do so then they have made their blood prohibited for me and their judgement is with Allah." (Riwayah Bukhari and Muslim) 

7. Relieving and removing the fury from hearts of the believers. Allah SWT says: “Fight them, and Allah will punish them by your hands, cover them with shame, help you (to victory) over them, heal the breasts of Believers, And remove the fury in their hearts. For Allah will turn (in mercy) to whom He will; and Allah is All-Knowing, All-Wise.” (At-Taubah: 14-15) 

8. Other objectives promised by Allah SWT"And another (favour will He bestow,) which ye do love,- help from Allah and a speedy victory. So give the Glad Tidings to the Believers." (As-Saff: 13)
